The sustainably sourced, coconut-based formula is specifically designed to be a safer, kinder alternative to chemical-based detergents making them ideal for those with sensitive skin.
Ingredients: Water, coconut oil, sodium cocoyl isethionate surfactant (derived from coconut fatty acid and completely palm free - some manufacturers do sell a mix of coconut and palm but NOT mine), Cocomidopropyl betaine surfactant (derived from coconut fatty acid and completely palm free. Polyvinyl alcohol 9002-89-5 (biodegradable binder*), Pure, organic essential oils (Lime, Bergamot Lemon, Jasmine Absolute, Clary Sage, Vetiver, Ho Wood)
Free from parabens, sulfates, dyes, synthetic fragrances, palm oil, bleach and harsh chemicals.
*Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) - Although this sounds awful, PVA is a non-toxic, completely biodegradable, water-soluble resin sometimes called a bioplastic. It's used as a binding agent in everything from paper to adhesives, textiles, and films and contact lense lubricant!
PVA is made from fossil fuel byproducts (mostly natural gas) but can also be made from biogas. Ethylene is extracted from these natural gases and mixed with acetate which forms the polymer - a type of biodegradable plastic derived from biological substances NOT petrol) usually wood pulp, and mixed with acetic acid (like in vinegar) - it's a very long and really complicated process!
It is 100% non-toxic and safe for humans, animals, and marine life and will degrade in waste water treatment plants within approx. 46-72 days by various enzymes, bacterias and microorganisms.
